Terms of service

1. Who we are

Plars Build Project Management Services, trading as Plars, licence 1642543 issued by Department of Economy and Tourism (DED), Dubai, of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

2. What the service is

Plars is a record-keeping platform for construction projects. It stores drawings, approvals, amounts, dates and correspondence, and records who did what and when.

We do not handle construction money. Budgets, invoices and payments recorded in the app are a record of amounts agreed and settled between you and the other parties, elsewhere. No construction payment passes through Plars. We are not a party to your building contract, we do not supervise work, and we give no engineering, legal or financial advice.

Plars is provided from the United Arab Emirates and may be used from anywhere. It is ordinary business software: there are no export restrictions on it, and nothing is imported or shipped, so no customs duty or import tariff arises.

3. Accounts

You must give accurate details and keep your password secret. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has access.

4. Paying

• Whoever creates a project pays for it. Anyone invited to a project uses it free, with no per-person charge.
• Prices are shown on our pricing page in AED. We are not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is charged.
• The single-project plan is paid once and does not expire. The yearly plan renews every twelve months until cancelled.
• If a yearly plan lapses, the projects you already have keep working normally for everyone on them — you simply cannot start a new project until it is renewed.

5. Refunds

Full refund within 14 days if you have not created a project. The full policy is on our refund page.

6. Delivery

Plars is delivered online — there is nothing to ship and no delivery charge. Access appears on the account you paid from, and you can start your project straight away.

Paid by card, access is switched on immediately once the payment is confirmed. Paid by bank transfer, we switch it on when the transfer reaches us — usually the same working day — and email you to confirm. If anything is slower than that, write to billing@plars.ae and we will sort it out.

7. Your content is yours

You keep ownership of everything you upload. You grant us only the permission needed to store it, show it to the people you invited, and back it up. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to train anything.

We access the contents of a project only when you ask us to help. Such access is time-limited, requires a stated reason, and is written into that project’s own permanent history, which is included whenever a project administrator downloads the project.

8. Who owns Plars

The opposite side of section 7. Your project content is yours; Plars itself is ours — the software, the way it is designed and worded, the name and the logo all belong to Plars Build Project Management Services and are protected by copyright and trade mark law.

Paying gives you the right to use Plars for your own construction projects, for as long as your plan runs. It does not transfer any ownership, and nothing here grants you a licence to the software beyond that use.

9. What you must not do

• Upload anything unlawful, or anything you have no right to share.
• Try to reach projects or accounts that are not yours.
• Interfere with the service or its security.
• Copy, adapt or translate any part of Plars, or try to work out how it is built by taking it apart.
• Use Plars to build or improve a competing product, or give access to someone doing so.
• Collect data from Plars automatically — scraping, crawling or bulk downloading — other than through a means we have agreed in writing.
• Resell, rent out or share your access with people who are not on your project. Inviting your consultant and contractor is exactly what this is for; reselling seats is not.
• Use our name, logo or wording as your own, or in a way that suggests we endorse you.

10. Availability

We work to keep Plars available and backed up, but we do not promise it will never be interrupted. We may change or improve features; if a change materially reduces what you paid for, we will tell you.

11. Ending it

You may stop using Plarsat any time. Every member of a project can download their own complete copy of it at any point, without asking us — whatever your role, and whether or not you administer the project. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or that has not been paid for.

How long we keep a project.Two years after it finishes. A project nobody has added to for three years is treated as finished, so one left alone is kept for five years in total. Before any of it goes, every member is emailed at 60 days, 30 days and 7 days with a one-click download of the whole project — and those emails are sent whether or not you have turned other notifications off. Any administrator can keep a project that is still in use, at no cost, and you can ask us to keep one for longer at any time before the date. We will never delete your project data without telling you first and giving you the chance to download it.

Keeping your own copy is worth doing regardless. A construction record may matter to you for many years after the job ends — longer than we hold it — and the download is yours, works offline, and does not depend on Plars still existing.

12. Liability

Plars is a record of decisions, not a decision-maker. We are not liable for construction outcomes, delays, costs or disputes between the parties on a project. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction.
